The leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have urged Gov. Sule Lamido of Jigawa to join the party for the progress of the country.

Speaking during a courtesy visit on Lamido in Dutse on Thursday, Bisi Akande, APC interim Chairman, said that the party was on a rescue mission to save the country.

Akande said that APC was on a “recruitment drive” to woo Lamido to join the party. “Our visit to Jigawa is about the future of this country and APC, as a party, is a fertile one that has place for Gov. Lamido. I am impressed by the governor’s developmental strides in the last six years, he is supposed to be among the progressive governors,” he said.

In his remarks, former Gov. Bola Tinubu of Lagos State described Lamido as “a reliable, resolute and courageous leader” who would bring good fortune to the party.

Also speaking, Gov. Raji Fashola of Lagos State said that Lamido “is a fearless leader” who the progressive governors would like to have in their midst.

Other party leaders on the visit to Lamido include the former Head of State, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, former EFCC Chairman, Malam Nuhu Ribadu and Gov. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti.

Others are a former Speaker of House of Representatives, Bello Masari, and former Gov. Alli Modu Sherif of Borno, among others.
