Arsenal’s hopes of progressing to the knockout stages of the Champions League are still alive after a dominant display secured a 3-0 victory over Dinamo Zagreb at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Gunners, who began their latest European campaign with defeat in Croatia, inflicted revenge on the visitors to move onto six points – three behind Olympiacos, who were hammered by Bayern Munich, ahead of a decisive sixth and final group match in Greece in December.

Mesut Ozil gave Arsenal a deserved first-half lead, latching onto Alexis Sanchez’s delightful cross to head the ball into the back of the net, before the Chilean doubled the lead after good work from Nacho Monreal.

Aaron Ramsey came off the bench mid-way through the second half to make his first appearance in a month, and within two minutes he was celebrating a third Arsenal goal as Sanchez rounded the keeper to wrap up the points.
