BUA International Limited on Wednesday debunked alleged sale of its pasta and flour mills.

O’tega Ogra, Head, Corporate Communications of the company, told newsmen in Lagos that due to BUA’s thriving line of business, it received several unsolicited expressions of Interest from different companies across the world on its various businesses.

“Whilst we have actively considered some of these overtures in the course of the year, we have not sold any of the companies at this time.

“In the event we sell any of our subsidiaries, we are committed to ensuring all employees get their full benefits in line with the company’s policy.”

Ogra said that BUA was committed to international best practices as regards welfare of its employees and would ensure payment of staff salaries before the end of the month.

He spoke against the backdrop of a protest staged on Dec.1 by employees of pasta and flour mills subsidiaries at the company’s head office over alleged sale of the companies.

The protesting staffs were reported to have disrupted operations at the office, while it took efforts of the Nigerian Police to quell the protest
