The Reverend Canon Mpho Tutu‚ daughter of Nobel peace laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu‚ was married to Professor Marceline Furth in a small civil ceremony in Oegstgeest in the Netherlands on Thursday‚ the family said.
Canon Tutu is Executive Director of the Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation.
Professor van Furth is a professor in Paediatric Infectious Diseases at the Vrije University in Amsterdam and holds the Desmond Tutu Chair in Medicine at the university.
It is the second marriage for both. The wedding will be celebrated in Cape Town in May 2016.
“The couple are very grateful to their families and friends for their love and support‚” the family said in a brief statement.
