The Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, Moshood Salvador, and 10 others have been ordered remanded in prison custody over the alleged murder of the Chairman of the party in Apapa Local Government Area, Adeniyi Aborishade.

They were ordered remanded in prison by the Chief Magistrate of the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Yaba, Oyetade Komolafe.

Salvador and the others were arraigned by the police on a two count charge of conspiracy and unlawful killing.

The prosecuting police officer said Aborishade was murdered on July 21 during the PDP’s “visitation meeting” that held at Igbosuku Village, Eti-Osa Local Government Area.

The prosecution said Salvador and the others “acted contrary to the law” and were liable to be punished under sections 233 and 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Those charged along with Salvador were Kehinde Fasasi, Rotimi Kujore, Fatai Adele, Ismaila Abiola, Amos Fawole, Victoria Falowo, Mukaila Odukoya, Oropo Isaac, Mohammed Babangida and Ugochukwu Nwoke.

They, however, pleaded not guilty to the two counts pressed against them.

Komolafe said he has to wait for the advice of the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions before proceeding with the case, hence the need to adjourn the case till August 27, 2018.

He then ordered that Salvador and the others be remanded in prison custody.
