Afe Babalola, Falana to pilot Interactive Forum for 13 UI VC aspirants

Legal Luminary and Founder, Age Babalola University, chief Afe Babalola (SAN) will on Monday chair an interactive session during which the 13 Vice-chancellorship aspirants of the University of Ibadan, UI, will speak with the university community.

The programme which was organized by the staff unions on the campus (ASUU, NASU, SSANU and NAAT) under the chairmanship of Professor Nelson Fashina said that Barrister Femi Falana (SAN) will moderate at the interactive forum.

SOME of the aspirants include Professors O.O. Layiwola (Institute of African Studies), O.O. Akinyinka (Pediatrics), F.O. Egbokhare (Linguistics and African Languages), Arinola O. Sanya (Physiotherapy), B.O. Fagbemi (Veterinary Microbiology and Parasitology).

Others are Professors L. Popoola (Forest Resources Management), A.I. Olayinka (Geology), A.I. Oluleye (Industrial and Production Engineering), O.D. Olaleye (Virology), A.E. Falaye (Aquaculture and Fisheries Management) and A.A. Agbaje (Political Science)‬

The programme scheduled for Trenchard Hall of the premier university at 10am will see the presence of all former Vice-chancellors of the university while contributions can be made through dedicated channels (www.uicommunityforum.net;uicommunityforum2015@gmail.com; www.facebook.com/uinextvc).

As at the close of nominations, 13-professors have indicated interest in the exalted position as the incumbent Professor Isaac Adewole ends his tenure this year.

‪The Convener, Professor Fashina said that the U.I Community Forum 2015 promises to provide the unique opportunity for a sociology of mutual dialogue whereby they (aspirants) would deliver their program of action for further development of our premier University of Ibadan, Ibadan.”‬
