The Inspector-General of Police (I-G), Solomon Arase, has directed Zonal Assistant Inspectors-General of Police and Command Commissioners of Police to ensure adequate and effective deployment of operational tools and manpower within their commands.
This is contained in a statement by the Force Spokesperson, acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Olabisi Kolawole in Abuja on Wednesday.
He then assured Nigerians of peaceful and secure independence anniversary celebration, as officers and men of the Force have been charged to ensure round the clock security measures.
The police boss urged all well-meaning persons and groups to cooperate with the police by providing useful information for the mutual benefit and collective interest of the citizenry.
He saluted the courage and determination of Nigerians to build and sustain a strong and indivisible nation, “in spite of all confronting circumstances.”
