The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Commission(FRSC), Boboye Oyeyemi, has directed all commanding officers of the commission to be on red alert during and after the Independence Anniversary celebrations on Thursday.

This was disclosed on Wednesday by Corps Commander Bisi Kazeem, Head, Media Relations and Strategy, of the commission, during an interview with newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday.

According Kazeem, Oyeyemi has directed that route lining and traffic control around venues of the celebrations in the country must be ensured.

“All the commanding officers are already placed on red alert by the corps marshal to ensure zero crash and free flow of traffic during and after the celebrations, so, we are fully prepared.

“We are tasked to ensure zero crash and free flow of traffic during and after the celebrations; we don’t have respect for anyone that disobeys the law; we are going to fully prosecute offenders.

“It is also an offence for unauthorsied persons to use siren on the roads. We are going to publish vehicle numbers and names of traffic violators in the `Hall of Shame’.

“They will be in the newspapers and electronic media to serve as deterrence to others who may want to behave in the same manner,” he said.

Kazeem urged motorists to obey traffic rules at all times and should also ensure that their vehicles were in good condition before driving them.
