The factional Chairman of Ogun State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party Engr Bayo Dayo, on Saturday, expelled the former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and House of Representative member Hon Ladi Adebutu from the Party.

Others expelled included an erstwhile member of Ogun state House of Assembly, Tolu Bankole and the factional chairman of the party in the state, Sikirulahi Ogundele.

The Sikirulahi Ogundele faction had on Friday announced the suspension of Senator Buruji Kashamu, the factional chairman of PDP in the state, Engr. Bayo Dayo, the state secretary, Alhaji Semiu Sodipo, a member of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Bowale Solaja, formar national auditor of PDP, Alhaji Fatai Adeyanju, the zonal secretary, Chief Pegba Otemolu, Hon. Daisi Akintan and Mr. Segun Seriki.

But Engr. Bayo Dayo while addressing a press conference at the party secretariat in Abeokuta, described their suspension as “highly unacceptable, ridiculous, prepostrous and affront on constituted authority of the party in Ogun state”.

Flanked by the zonal secretary of PDP, Chief Pegba Otemolu, deputy state chairman, Alhaji Boye Adesina and the state woman leader, Mrs. Remi Adesoji, Engr. Dayo said Ogundele and his members lacked the locus to suspend anyone because they have no authority or legal basis to act.

He added Section 57, sub-section 7 of PDP constitution does not grant a state executive committee the power to discipline any member of NEC which he and Kashamu are members.

Pronouncing their expulsion, however, Dayo alleged that former Gbenga Daniel, Ladi Adebutu, Sikirulahi Ogundele and others, have in the last few weeks, been negotiating with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Alliance for Democracy (AD) on how they would decamp.

He said, “What they are currently doing is to weaken the PDP and cause deep disaffection within it before moving again to their next preffered party. We shall no longer condone this gross misconduct and anti-party activities.

“Consequntly, the state executive committee have examined their actions and concluded that it is continually inimical to sustenance and progress of PDP in Ogun state. We therefore as follows: that Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Hon. Ladi Adebutu, Sikirulahi Ogundele and Tolu Bankola are guilty of acts of insurbodination, wilful undermining of the party, antiparty activities, malicious damage of party infrastructure, physical harm to party officials and imprsonation.

“They are hereby expelled from the party and cease to be members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun state and the entire federation. The general public is hereby notified”.

Engr. Dayo who stated the resolution of the expulsion is subject to no appeal or consideration, submitted “the four people are incurably cancerous to the PDP and we are better off without them”.
