Sultan, Sanusi, others for MSSN Islamic vacation course in Ogun

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar is set to declare open the 102nd Islamic Vacation Course (IVC) of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), B-Zone, on Sunday Dec. 25, 2016 at its permanent site.

A statement jointly issued by the B-Zone Coordinator of MSSN, Mushafau Alaran and the PRO, Momoh Bashir, states that the 10-day programme (25th Dec. 2016 – 1st Jan. 2017) will hold at the Society’s permanent site at KM 30, Imolisa Village, Lagos-Ibadan express way, Ogun State.

The Sultan, who is also the President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), will equally inspect all the on-going projects at the site and commission the completed ones.
The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi ll is slated to deliver the 102nd Vacation Lecture on the theme “In defence of our faith” at the formal opening.

According to the conveners, the theme is geared towards calling on Muslims to be steadfast in the wake of the current economic recession in the country.

MSSN says the event will be chaired by Dr Sakariyau Babalola, the Deputy President-General of the NSCIA, and President, Muslim Ummah of South West of Nigeria (MUSWEN). The Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, Alhaji Daud Makanjuola Akinola will be the father of the day.

The formal opening will also witness the presence of MSSN leaders like Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, the NSCIA Secretary-General; Prof. Daud Noibi, MUSWEN Executive Secretary; erudite scholars, amongst other dignitaries.

The 102nd IVC program kicks off on Friday 23rd of Dec. 2016 in three centers across the zone, namely Imolisa Village on KM 30 Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State; Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State; and Al Usrah Complex, Rumuekpirikom, Port Harcourt, Rivers State for the South South and South Eastern Delegates.

Highlight of the programmes during the 10-day course include; Classes, Lectures, marriage counseling, Seminars, Open Air Sessions, health talks, vocational training, sporting events, book reviews, amongst others.

Over 25,000 delegates are expected at the vacation course which has been carefully designed to reawaken and nurture the souls of Muslim youths and adults alike during the holiday season.
