One of the 100 suspected Boko Haram terrorists recently declared wanted by the Nigerian Army has been arrested in Abuja as he attempted to flee.

The declared wanted suspected Boko Haram terrorists, Chindo Bello was apprehended on Sunday by aviation security at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja as he was boarding Aero Contractors’ Airline flight to Lagos.

Col. Sani Kukasheka Usman, acting Director Army Public Relations, said in a statement that the suspect has since been handed over to the military intelligence for interrogation and prosecution.

“The Nigerian army thanked those eagle eyed and patriotic security agents and good citizens for the tip off that led to the arrest of the suspect.

“The Nigerian Army would like to reiterate the need for all well meaning Nigerians and those residing in our great country to be more vigilant and assist security agencies with information about the declared wanted terrorists, their sponsors and other criminals in our midst,” the statement stressed.

Recalled that the Nigerian Army had in late October released photographs of 100 suspected Boko Haram kingpins, soliciting the support of the general public to help identify them and report same to security agencies across the country.
