Some of the rescued victims were reportedly found in chains at the facility popularly known as Malam Niga’s Rehabilitation Centre.

Among those rescued were 22 females and four foreigners while the owner of the centre was whisked away by security operatives.

The rescued victims were later evacuated to the Hajj Camp in Mando area of the state capital.

According to the government, the victims would be reunited with their families upon the completion of the exercise.

Three weeks ago, the police raided an Islamic centre at Rigasa, still in Kaduna, rescuing at least 300 victims.

The victims, who according to the police, are from Burkina Faso, Mali and other African countries, were subjected to inhuman treatment.

Last week, the police shut down a religious centre (pictured) in the Sabon Garin area of Daura in Katsina state.

He said investigation revealed that the place had been in existence for at least 40 years.
