Abba Ibrahim resigns as minister of state foreign affairs

Minister of State foreign Kadija Bukar Abba Ibrahim has resigned as minister. She would be the sixth minister to resign from the cabinet in the last 12 month.

The minister who gave her valedictory speech, at the Wednesday Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, said that she was resigned her appointment as minister to enable her run for the forthcoming election in the Federal House of Representatives in February to represent Damatura/Gujba/Gulani/Tarmuwa, in Yobe State under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

She was nominated as minister in 2015 by President Muhammadu Buhari and had to vacate her seat in the House to enable her take the appointment.
