The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has predicted that insurgency worldwide will be weakened in the new year and the dreaded Ebola virus which have killed thousands of people especially in West African sub-region will finally be defeated.

This prediction came as the General Superintendent, Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi predicted a glorious year for Nigeria.

Speaking at the crossover night last night, Kumuyi told the gathering that this year would usher in signs and wonders into the lives of God’s people, stressing that before God could bless them, they must lay a solid foundation by giving their lives to Christ.

The man of God was optimistic that God would pour out His abundance on His children in this New Year, urging them to trust God and look on with hope as they go through the year.

Prelate of Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence Samuel Kanu Uche said Nigeria is drifting from the kingdom of God as evident in the multi-faceted socio-economic challenges facing the country.

In a New Year goodwill message to Nigerians made available by the church’s Media and Public Relations Officer, Rev. Oladapo Daramola, the prelate said “it is apparent that the nation is drifting from the kingdom of God as evident in what seems to be a helpless situation confronting her.

Adeboye made the revelations in his annual predictions listed under four categories of individual, international, prediction for the RCCG and the Nigerian nation during the crossover service at the Redemption Camp, Kilometre 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, to usher in year 2015.

Rolling out the New Year predictions after the new year thanksgiving service at the camp, Adeboye said God directed the world to pray against “Massive calamities, massive earthquakes, strong hurricanes and typhoons.”

On the international scene, he said scientific and medical breakthrough “Will be many particularly in the areas of lack of sleep, dreams and brain disorders. Ebola will die out. All over the world, insurgency will be considerably weakened. God said we should pray against massive calamities, pray against earthquakes, strong hurricanes and typhoons”.

For Nigeria, the man of God said 2015 being an election year, he has to be cautious with what God has told him about Nigeria, noting that at the end of the year many in the country will say “all is well that ends well”.

In his words: “You are all ready for what God has for us in Nigeria, unfortunately, because it is election year, I can’t tell you all that God told me about Nigeria. But I will tell you this: ‘By the end of the year, many will say all is well that ends well,’” leaving the congregation in suspense without explaining what he meant by “all is well that ends well.”

Adeboye said for members of the church, who obey the instruction to fast for 100 days in 2014, they should expect great harvest of blessings from God, explaining that the harvest of the 100 days spiritual exercise will be rewarded by God in the new year.

“The harvest of 100 days fasting will be given in 2015. This year will be full of testimonies, some will swim in the river of abundance this year, there will be miraculous completion of projects, there will be fulfillment of dreams, there will be miraculous restoration and the songs of many will be the Lord has been good to me”.

On what members of RCCG should expect in the New Year, the cleric, fondly called Daddy G.O. by all and sundry, told the gathering that the prophecies would be relayed to them through their pastors.

Methodist prelate explained that the nation’s situations are enemies which include home grown terrorism, infrastructural decay, economic saboteurs, deepening corrupt practices in the formal and informal sectors, religious extremism and fundamentalism, flagrant disrespect for the rule of Law and a complete collapse of our social values and moral ethics.

“The Kingdom of God as we know it is that which promotes peace and tolerance, an egalitarian society where equity, fairness and justice reign and a place where there is abundance and prosperity especially in a country like ours with vast resources and endless opportunities.

“However, because of the insatiable and greedy thirst for power and wealth especially by the political elite and those who have lost every human decency and dignity, our nation continues to drift from the kingdom of God,” he stated.

The Prelate, however, said the situation is redeemable only if Nigerians will move closer to God in 2015 and be more prayerful than before, stressing, that prayer answers all things.

“I firmly believe that this nation can overcome these humongous challenges confronting her but it will require the prayer of all and sundry and the president and Commander-in-Chief must be prepared to be courageous and provide purposeful and inspiring leadership at this crucial moment in our national history.

“With fervent and faithful prayers, the elections will go smoothly and there will be no violence no matter how hard the enemies of this nation try,” the prelate stated.

He then called on politicians to commit themselves to the worthy cause of nation building as Nigerians are suffering unjustly in the midst of plenty, pointing out that the gift of God to this nation is not for the control of a minority over the majority but for the benefit of all.

He said God is a God of justice who will never hold back from fighting for the oppressed.

The Prelate said there will be relative peace in the country in the New Year but “it is equally important that Nigerians pray without ceasing”.

In his crossover sermon titled; “Power of Testimonies”, Pastor Adeboye explained that when believers appreciate and testify about God’s goodness in their lives, God will do more for them. adding that those who refuse to testify to God’s goodness only rob themselves.

Enumerating work of testimony, Adeboye in his usual subtle manner said; testimony glorifies God, encourages the testifier, edifies listeners, brings glory to God and commits God to do greater miracles and propels the testifier to greater heights of prayer and action.
