The campaign for the People’s Democratic Party’s presidential nominee, Atiku Abubakar, as well as the party’s candidates for the House of Assembly and National Assembly, was headed by Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Tuesday across four federal seats in the state.
According to a statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, obtained in Osogbo, Adeleke urged party supporters to support the PDP candidates for good governance while addressing a crowd at various campaign locations in the Osun East and Central Senatorial Districts.
As he gave the PDP flags to Senator Fadahunsi and other candidates in Osun East, Adeleke claimed that he was already delivering on good governance, which would become more widespread under an Atiku presidency.
A vote for Atiku, he continued, “is a vote for a new Nigeria, for true federalism, and for economic recovery. By supporting the PDP, you are continuing the liberation from bad government that began on July 16.
“My people, spread ‘Imole’ to include our presidential candidate and all legislative candidates. I implore you to ensure that the PDP wins big on Saturday in order to finish the mission you began in July.
“But I want peaceful elections. I’ve given the go-ahead for security services to detain criminals and thugs. I told them to search for and purge all recognizable hiding places. Violence is not tolerated by our government. Elections should be held in a calm environment since they are about choice.
