The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Tony Anenih, is set to resign from his coveted post barring any last minute change of mind.
Anenih was the BoT chairman few weeks to the end of tenure of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as the President in 2007, when the then President took over the post in controversial circumstance.
An aide to the Edo-born former Minister of Works said in Abuja on Wednesday evening that Anenih’s letter of resignation was “ready about to be submitted.”
Anenih’s expected resignation follows the resignation of Adamu Mu’azu on Wednesday morning as the National Chairman of the party.
The party has been plunged into crisis since it suffered a heavy defeat in the Marh 28 and April 11 elections.
