The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed October for the commencement of its primary elections that would culminate in the nomination of its presidential candidate for the 2015 general election.

It also demanded a temporary lifting of the curfew currently in place in Adamawa State in the preparation for the October 11 governorship election in the state.

These are some of the resolutions taken at the party’s National Executive committee meeting in Abuja on Thursday.

The APC spokesperson, Lai Mohammed, said after the meeting that the NEC approved the use of the modified direct primaries for picking the party’s presidential candidate in subsequent elections.

Among members of the party believed to be eyeing the presidency are former military Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and governor of Kano State, Rabi’u Kwankwaso.

Mohammed said the party demanded the lifting of the curfew in Adamawa state to ensure mass participation in the election.
