The military said the towns Adamawa state which were captured by Boko had been cleared before the 2015 general election.

Some residents had been encouraged to return home after the military operations. But the latest report may serve as another spanner in the works. And perhaps further wake up call on the military and incoming administration.

A similar report of the insurgents’ recapture of Marte in Borno state was last week down played by the military.

Defence authorities said the terrorists who may have been sighted at Marte were likely to be those fleeing from bombardment by the military of Boko Haram camps in Sambisa forest.
