The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Ali Olanusi, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.

Olanusi’s defection, according to his Chief Press Secretary, Daisi Ajayi in a telephone chat with Eagle Online, has to do with Mimiko’s decision to dump the Labour Party, under which platform they won the election for the Peoples Democratic party.

Aside from Olanusi, several other aides of Mimiko also disagreed with the switch from the Labour Party to the PDP.

Mimiko pulled a masterstroke on his former boss, late Governor Olusegun Agagu, when he pulled out Olanusi from the PDP and announced him as his running mate on the platform of the Labour Party.

Olanusi was then the Chairman of the PDP in Ondo State, under who’s leadership Agagu was elected the governor.

Sources said that Olanusi may have dropped his resignation letter as deputy governor, as he is scheduled to meet with the leaders of the APC in Ondo State any minute from now.
