The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2015 general presidential elections, Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday formally presented his running mate, Professor Yemi Osibajo, a former attorney-general of Lagos State, at the APC national secretariat in Abuja.

Osibajo is a professor of Law, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN. He was the Commissioner for Justice in Lagos State during the reign of Mr. Asiwaju Bola Tunubu as the governor of the state between 1999 and 2007.

Making the presentation at the national secretariat of the APC in Abuja, Mr. Buhari said he sought advice from within and outside the party before making his choice.

He said Osibajo was chosen because he was a man of “impeccable integrity”.

Professor Osibajo, who is also the resident pastor at the Olive Tree parish of the Redeemed Church on Banana island of Lagos State, is one of the closest aides to Church’s General Overseer and revered clergyman, Enoch Adeboye. He has at various times been Master of Ceremony at the church’s Holy Ghost Convention and Congresses usually held at its Camp Ground along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
