Dabiri-Erewa congratulates Khadijah and Ayo for winning Councilorship seats in Canada

The duo of Nana Khadija Mamudu-Haliru and Hon. Ayo Owodunni have been congratulated by Hon. (Dr) Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), for winning their respective elections as Counsellors in Canada.

Nana Khadija Mamudu-Haliru was chosen as Counselor Ingersoll of Ontario County, Canada, while Ayo Owodunni was elected City Counselor in Kitchner, Ontario, Canada.

Dabiri-Erewa congratulated them both personally and said that their new roles were proof of the commitment, integrity, willpower, and competence that Nigerians are known for, particularly in the diaspora.

“This win is a collective one for Nigerians, home and abroad, and we are
solidly behind you.”

She proudly stated that Hon. Ayo Owodunni was “the first black city councilor in the area to be so elected,” setting a new record.

“On behalf of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) accept my hearty congratulations!”, she stated.
