The nomination of two Nigerian pop singers, Davido and Yemi Alade, for the Best African Act of the MTV European Music Awards, signals a battle against other African singers equally chosen for the category.
Their rivals in the category include AKA from South Africa and Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania.
The only slot left for nomination in the same category has been thrown open to the public by the awards organisers.
