Secretary to the Edo State Government, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere, has resigned his appointment.
Ihonvbere resigned after losing in the primaries of the All Progressive Congress where he contested for the Edo North senatorial seat.
He lost to Major Francis Alimekhena, a contender from Estako, while Ihonvbere hails from Owan.
Sources close to Ihonvbere said he resigned because he felt Governor Adams Oshiomhole connived with the Estako tribe to humiliate him.
A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Oshiomhole, Peter Okhiria, said the Governor has accepted the resignation of Prof. Ihonvbere.
The statement said the Governor thanked Ihonvbere for his services to the state and wished him well in his future endeavors.
