A former minister of the Federal Capital Territory and ex director-general of the Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE), Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has been declared the governorship candidate of APC in Kaduna State.
El-Rufai polled 1,965 votes to defeat his closest rival, Isa Ashiru, who had 1,379 votes.
Other candidates scored as follows: Saeed 127 votes, Abdullahi Ango 25 votes and Salihu Mohammed Lukman 22 votes. Invalid votes 28.
Meanwhile, the candidature Nasir El-Rufai as the governorship candidate of APC in Kduna State has been endorsed by a former nimsiter of education and diector of Bureau of Public Procurement, Mrs Oby Ezekwesili on Friday.
Ezekwesili said Kaduna State would enjoy a new lease of life if the El-Rufai was elected as governor in 2015. She said El-Rufai has a track record of performance that should sway votes in his way.
“Should people of Kaduna be persuaded by track record of delivery of results and elect El-Rufai, they will” a better performance than that of Gov. Babatunde Fashola of Lagos.”
Ezekwesili said the country would be a better place if the electorate voted qualified candidates into public positions.
“Research validates it. fix the quality of a country political actors and governance improves plenty notches.”
