The wife of Ekiti state governor, Bisi Fayemi, has said that her husband’s administration would continue to involve the citizens, grassroots in governance, to ensure accountability and assessment.

She made the statement on Tuesday during a Town Hall meeting for stakeholders on how to engage elected and appointed leaders for leadership, accountability and good governance in Ado-Ekiti.

Mrs Fayemi, who described the Fayemi led-administration as a government that is accountable, responsible, which would carry all stakeholders along for effective government.

Some of the community stakeholders from Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government identified some of their pressing demands such as health centres, potable water, roads, modern markets and micro credit for market women.

Earlier, the Chief of staff to the governor, Mr Abiodun Omoleye, assured the community leaders of government’s readiness to ensure that all of their demands are met before the expiration of the government.

Abiodun Omoleye noted that the present government would soon commence work on some key projects at the grassroots, advising them to always make their needs known to government.

He seized the opportunity to call on the community leaders to join hands with the government and law enforcement agencies to ensure that the state is safe from kidnappers and that they expose the hideouts of criminals in their various communities.

One of the High Chiefs, Chief Samuel Esan, from Iyin-Ekiti, commended the initiative of bringing the stakeholders together to know their needs.

He pleaded that this kind of programme should continue in order to bring the government close to the grassroots.
