FirstBank, FBN Insurance win World Finance Awards

FirstBank and FBN Insurance, the banking and Insurance subsidiaries of FBN Holdings PLC have been named the 2014 Best Private Bank in Nigeria and Best Life Insurance Company for the Nigerian market respectively courtesy World Finance Awards.

These awards are part of World Finance series of Award competition, reputed to be one of the global financial industry voices which rate companies that demonstrate innovative risk management strategies and client services.

According to the organizers of World Finance Awards, FirstBank was adjudged winner based on its attention to client services and its ‘Best in Class’ Private Banking Hubs located in Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt, as well as the accelerated speed in growing its market share and registering a 39 per cent in revenues within a short span of operation.

Also the choice of FBN Insurance for the award is in recognition of its innovative deployment of risk management solutions and operational standards such as good global insurance best practices, strong and decisive management, financial figures/performance, operational efficiency and effectiveness, quality employee management and good customer retention rate.

These, coupled with multinational support on risk solutions through an unequalled global network of the Sanlam Group of South Africa gave FBN Insurance commendable all-round industry recognition”.

The body further amplified the originality of the award thus: “Our judging panel boasts over 230 years of financial and business journalism, supported by a research team that works round the clock to ensure our award winners are the most deserving in their sector.

“Our award programmes are tailored to provide a comprehensive analysis of the very best in each market while the panel has been wary to avoid the danger of bias towards criteria such as depth of practice and size of company, in order to get an insight into different geographies and niche areas; this is because we recognize smaller market participants as well as larger firms adapting international models to unique geographies”.
