The Executive Editor, Frontiers Alliance Communications Limited, publishers of Frontiers Newspapers online, Daniel Idonor, is dead.

Aged 45, Idonor, according to a statement on Tuesday by its Managing Editor, Horatius Egua, died on Monday at the Nigerian Air Force Hospital, Abuja, after a protracted illness.

A devoted Christian, who was a Deacon with the Living Faith Ministry, Abuja, the late Idonor was also a one-time Chairman of the State House Press Corps, Abuja.

He started his journalism career at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Bauchi and at different times worked for Champion and Vanguard Newspapers before he ventured into online publishing.

“Idonor served meritoriously as the Chairman of the State House Press Corps before he entered the mainstream nation’s politics under the banner of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) where he aspired to represent his senatorial district in 2013 before he was advised to step down by the party hierarchy,” according to the statement.

He was a top contender for the House of Representatives primary election in his Ughelli-Udu Federal Constituency, in Delta State under the platform of the PDP before he withdrew from the race early December 2014.
