Adegoke AbdulMojeed, a final year student studying Physics Electronics at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has been diagnosed with Glomerulonephritis and is soliciting financial assistance to undergo a kidney transplant.

AbdulMojeed was about to write his final second-semester examination when he slumped and was rushed to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with inflammation of the glomeruli in the kidney (Glomerulonephritis), and this held him back from graduating. He is currently being managed at Afe Babalola University Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) Multi-System Hospital.

After conducting series of tests and consultations, it appears that he will need to undergo a kidney transplant to overcome this deadly condition. He has since then been placed on weekly dialysis, a procedure carried out to remove waste products and excess fluid from the blood when the kidneys stop working properly.

“He has been placed on weekly dialysis for a while, and that has been causing him pain and a lot of cost from his end, as the procedure is an expensive one with associated side effects.”

AbdulMojeed requires a sum of 14.5 million naira to undergo a kidney transplant to relieve him of distress. In a bid to solicit for funds, the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), FUTA Branch designed a flier that is being shared on social media, to create awareness for him.

A GoFundMe account has also been created to help raise the money.
