Gunmen kill two in Lagos traffic attack

Two persons were reportedly killed on Thursday in Lagos, when gunmen attacked motorists in a traffic gridlock.

The incident which on the Eko Bridge in the Costain area of Lagos.

The robbers, according to eyewitnesses, robbed vehicles one after the other carting away phones, laptops, money and other valuables without any assistance from security agencies.

The gunmen reportedly shot dead two people in a vehicle who refused to wind down their window.

Eye witnesses said some of the robbers had kept guard by shooting in the air while others carried out the operation.

In the melee that ensued, our correspondent gathered that many vehicle owners abandoned their vehicles and fled on hearing the gunshots.

The motorists also berated the police and Federal Road Safety Corps who they said were nowhere to be found while the operation lasted.
