The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has accepted the results of the Presidential and national Assembly elections in Rivers State.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega said this morning that from the report of the three member investigative committee set up on the petition by the Rivers APC, there was no enough justifiable reason to reject the outcome of the election.

Jega said that “election held in Rivers contrary to the allegations by APC and that there is no reason to believe the alleged substitution of election officials in Rivers was true and substantial enough.

“We do not believe that the allegations are substantial enough to warrant the cancellation and rescheduling of the election.

“The resolution of the commission is that we would accept the results coming from Rivers but will keep intact all documentary evidences at our disposal for whoever which to take the matter up with the courts,” Jega said.
