The family of Olaajayi Oluwasanmi of Abeokuta and Ekiti has petitioned the acting Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris over incessant attacks on members of the family by some people suspected to be political thugs.

The petitioner also copied the Commissioners of Police in Ogun and Ekiti States with copies sent to the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 which comprise of Lagos and Ogun, Abdul Majid Alli.

According to the petition which was signed by one Olaajayi Wale, it accused some men which were arrested and prosecuted for attacking one of their son, Olaajayi Oluwasanmi few years back as being on reprisal at the country home of Olaajayi in Erijiyan Ekiti and his home in Abeokuta.

“Barely a year after the miraculous escape of the only surviving son of our father Chief Olajide Olaayi, Olaajayi Oluwasanmi from the people suspected to be political thugs, Chief Olajide Ajayi also tasted the bitter pills of attack as his home in Ekiti and that of his son in Abeokuta were invaded by hoodlums suspected to be political thugs.

“The attacks which had been on since about five years ago led to the disappearance of Olaajayi Oluwasanmi to an unknown place while his aged father Olajide was also beating to a pulp last week when they invaded the home of Chief Olaajayi Compound in Ejinrin Ekiti Local government area of Ekiti state.

“During their unwelcomed visit, the two houses were turned upside down and many important documents were taken away with one of the Chief Olaajayi’s wife seriously wounded.

“From what we could deduce from the series of molestation and attacks, those thugs may be those arrested and prosecuted few years ago for their roles in the attack of Oluwasanmi.

“It could be recalled that the Police did a very good job then when they arrested the culprits and the Court in Ekiti subsequently jailed them to Three years imprisonment,” the petition stated.

The petition added that those who tried to assassinate Oluwasanmi since they regained their freedom few months ago seems to be on a revenge mission as they have been seen on several occasions surveying the homes of Olaajayi.

While calling for proper investigation into the issue, the petitioner also called on the police to adequately protect them from those who are hell bent in wiping off the whole Olaajayi household over minor political reason.
