Manchester City midfielder, Matheus Nunes, has reportedly been arrested.

Born in Brazil, the 26-year-old was said to have taken the phone in a moment of anger and refused to return it.

According to Dailymail, the Portuguese International was allegedly questioned on suspicion of stealing a mobile phone at a nightclub in Madrid, Spain.

The footballer was said to have been held in the early hours on September 8 at sprawling disco La Riviera and taken to a local police station for questioning.

Spanish daily, El Mundo, said the arrest occurred around 5.30am after he was accused of taking the phone from a 58-year-old man who had tried to take a photo of him without permission in the nightclub toilets.

The police reportedly arrested him after being called to the scene and found the phone in his possession, El Mundo stated.

The former Wolves player moved to City two years ago for €62m, but he had been a rotational option for Pep Guardiola.
