The management of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Tuesday confirmed the death of Saidu Ahmed, its north-east zonal coordinator.

Abdulkadir Ibrahim, NEMA north-east principal information officer, made the confirmation in an interview with NAN in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

Ibrahim said the coordinator died at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) after battling diabetes.

“We are still at the hospital to receive the corpse,” he said.

He prayed to Allah to forgive his soul and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
