New Eze Ndigbo pledges improved security, peaceful co-existence

The new Eze Ndigbo of Mushin/ Odi Olowo community in Mushin Local Council of Lagos State, Chief Monday Lawrence Obijogu (Ezedioranma 1) has promised to work for improved security and peaceful co-existence in the area.

Ezedioranma also pledged to partner security agencies to ensure security of life and property in the market and its environs.

He spoke after his installation by a six-man king makers, who performed the coronation rituals in Ladipo area of Mushin, attended by members of the business community, captains of industry and traditional rulers.

The elated monarch told The Guardian that his decision to take the title was to improve security and peaceful coexistence among Igbo communities in the area and their host.

He promised to use his influence and resources to ensure the peace and wellbeing of both old and Igbo youths in Mushin/OdiOlowo.

The monarch urged members of the Igbo community in Mushin and Lagos, as a whole, to cooperate with the state government and to carry out their businesses in a lawful manner.

“So, when the leaders of Mushin/Odi Olowo chapter of the Igbo community in Lagos approached me to be the Eze Ndigbo in Mushin/Odi Olowo, I couldn’t turn it down because I saw it as an encouragement,” he said.

Asked what plans he has for the youths in the market, he said: “All the people I have been working with are youths, therefore, I have been trying to sensitise them.

“As you know Ladipo Market is where you see all manner of young people. However, I am doing my best to bring them out of their evil ways and put them on the right path to become better people in future,” he added.
