Jimi Agbaje, the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP governorship candidate in Lagos State, has decried the absence of governance in Lagos State, following recent developments in the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Agbaje, who spoke shortly after a meeting with some interest groups in Lagos, said a few individuals are holding Lagos State to ransom because of their bloated ego, insisting that the state cannot suffer endlessly. According to him, Lagos is suffering because APC cannot manage the outcome of its rancorous primaries that is not only tearing the party apart, but also stalling governance.

“Evidence of mis-governance is noticeable everywhere”, he lamented, warning that the APC is overstretching the patience of the common people of Lagos State who are real victims of the mismanagement and rot going on in different sectors of Lagos.

“I think it is important for the electorate and those who love Lagos to ask questions now as we prepare to make that choice that can make or mar us. Governance has been on a standstill in Lagos State for some time now and we all seem to have accepted this unfortunate situation as normal.

“But our question for APC is: what is the legacy of the last twenty years under their watch? Can they speak of achievements in transportation, public health, education, traffic management, housing, youth development and so on? This is the reason I laughed when my opponent said he is doing research, research after twenty years?”
