The Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] has released its list of governorship candidates for the eastern Nigerian state of Imo and conspicuously missing is the candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party.

There was no candidate listed for the party in the list pasted on the walls of the INEC headquarters in Abuja on Friday.

The list showed that the Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha and his current deputy, Prince Madumere would be the torch bearers for the All Progressives Congress [APC] while Captain Iheanacho is the candidate for the All Progressives Grand Alliance [APGA].

PDP’s candidate loud omission brings to the fore the dispute between the deputy speaker of the house of representatives, Emeka Ihedioha and Ifeanyi Araraume, as to the right claimant to the party’s candidacy.
Both men claimed they won the 8 December governorship primary held in the state.
