The All Progressives Congress (APC) ward executives in Igbotako ward II under Okitipupa LGA of Ondo State have suspended Jimoh Ibrahim, senator representing Ondo South.
The senator was suspended days after he called the party’s governorship primary election in the state a “mega fraud”.
In April, Ibrahim contested the APC governorship primary election in Ondo but lost to Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the incumbent governor.
He is currently in court, seeking an order for a fresh exercise.
However, another faction declared support for the senator.
In a statement, Adetokunbo Omotola, ward chairman, and 26 other APC officials said they were shocked at how Usman Ododo, governor of Kogi, handled the primary election.
“That no election took place at Igbotako Ward 2 and indeed all the other wards in Okitipupa LGA. We are surprised to see votes allotted to contestants by the Ododo-led Committee. We hereby pass a vote of absolute ‘Confidence’ on our leader, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, PhD, CFR.”
