Abdul Dogo, a judge of the federal high court, Akure, Ondo state, has been kidnapped.

Dogo was kidnapped alongside his driver at Ibilo/Isua Akoko axis, a border town between Ondo and Edo states, on his way from Abuja to Akure, on Tuesday.

An official of the court, who did not want to be quoted said that the kidnappers had contacted the judge’s family members to demand a N50 million ransom.

Femi Joseph, spokesman of the Ondo police command, confirmed the abduction of Dogo but said he was not aware of the demand of the abductors.

Describing the incident as unfortunate, he told journalists that the command is working to secure the judge’s release.

Dogo’s abduction took place three days after Isa Rambo, an assistant commissioner of police, was abducted in Kaduna state.

Rambo, commander of the Suleja area command of the Nigeria Police Force, was kidnapped on his way to Jos, Plateau state capital.

He regained freedom on Sunday evening.
