Oshiomhole signs N160bn Appropriation bill

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo has signed assented to the N160 billion 2014 budget as passed by the State House of Assembly.

Oshiomhole said that the House of Assembly, in exercising its powers, amended and reviewed the initial figure upward by N1 billion, adding that much as he found no contradictions with the amendment, he believed that it was for the good of the people of the state and it would enrich their lives.

The governor said that the executive would do its best to implement the budget as faithfully as possible.

He said that the budget, coming in January, was timely and that government would take advantage of the dry season to intensify efforts at completing on-going projects, especially road projects.

Oshiomhole thanked the leadership of the House for expediting action on the passage of the budget.

The governor assured the House hat government would ensure that the implementation of the budget would translate into reality.
