Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink does not think the expected signing of Alexandre Pato is a risk.

The 26-year-old former AC Milan forward is reportedly set to sign on loan from Brazilian club Corinthians until the end of the season.

Successful when joining Milan in 2007, he scored once in his final 21 games before returning to Brazil in 2013.

“It’s not a gamble. Coming on loan makes it possible to view if he can adapt to the league,” said Hiddink.

“He is in London. He is now in the process of bureaucratic paperwork.”

The forward has scored 10 goals in 25 caps for Brazil, but last appeared for his country in 2013.

He also won a silver medal at the London Olympics in 2012.

Chelsea are also set to sign New York Red Bulls defender Matt Miazga.

“We’re not rushing, but he will be one of the squad members for the future,” added Hiddink.
