The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Ward 2 Ward Initiative has expelled Zainab Akwanga, the daughter of a former Minister of Labour and Productivity, Husaini Akwanga for anti-party activities.
The PDP group at its emergency meeting in Abuja resolved that Zainab and others were found guilty of anti-party activities and therefore, should be considered as non-members.
A statement signed by Shekulomaso Kamal Karka, National coordinator; and Ikechukwu Ojukwu, National Legal Adviser of the PDP Ward 2 Ward respectively, said that the expulsion of the members became necessary so as to maintain the integrity of the organisation.
Apart from Zainab, other expelled members are Hajara Husseini, Vivian Habitat and Thelma Nkanu, Wales Taha, Mceva Temofe, Joan Hassan Hyatt and Elizabeth A. Aikhomo.
“They were expelled because of the anti-party activities they have been carrying out and which has brought disrepute to our organization,” the statement added, warning members of the public not to have any dealing with the aforementioned personalities realting to the group or the party.
“Anybody or group of people who does any business in the name of PDP with any of these expelled members does it at his or her own risk,” the statement said.
Recalled that Akwanga was sacked as a minister under the regime of former President Olusegun Obasanjo over his alleged complicity in the $214 million National Identity Card bribe scandal.
