The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday said aspirants to all positions including the presidency for the 2015 general elections ca now pick up nominations.
In a statement signed by the national publicity secretary of the PDP, Olisa Metuh, the party also said that the deadline for the purchase and collection of all nomination forms has been extended to Thursday, 6th November 2014.
The National Working Committee of the party as well as the PDP Governors’ Forum had in September endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan as the sole candidate of the PDP for next year’s general election.
The PDP thereafter rebuffed attempts by Dr Jhalil Tafawa Balewa and Professor Akasuba Duke-Abiola to pick up presidential nomination forms.
In the statement, Olisa Metuh said, “All aspirants who paid for nomination forms, including the Presidential Form but yet to collect same, should come to the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja with verifiable evidence of payment for purposes of collection of their forms.”
