The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), John Odigie-Oyegun has alleged that the People’s Democratic Party-led Federal Government has expended $28 billion on power between 1999 and 2014 without any tangible improvement in power supply in the country.

Odigie-Oyegun was speaking at an event held to celebrate the 60th birthday of the deputy national chairman of the (South) of the APC and former governor of Ekiti State, Segun Oni.

Oyegun cliamed that 2015 was the appointed time by God for APC to take over the leadership of the country. He explained that Nigeria would be a better place under APC because of the party’s welfarist ideologies.

He said, “APC is a party whose time has come. APC is a party with welfarist and people-oriented programmes.

“We won’t steal your money. Public money must be used for the benefit of the people. The level of corruption that exists today will cease when APC gains power.

“We would protect our citizens. The life of every Nigerian is worthy to preserve. Whatever that will take us to end insurgency, we are going to do it.

Segun Oni also spoke about his beliefs that APC would win 2015 presidential elections.

HE said, “It is very clear anywhere in Nigeria that the APC is the government in waiting. The APC would win hands down. I believe this is the ordination of God.”

Both current governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, and his immediate predecessor, Kayode Fayemi were present at the event, where they shook hands and exchanged good-natured banters.
