President Buhari orders security organizations to ensure free elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) employees and Nigerian citizens alike should be able to participate in the election in safety, according to orders from President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).

This was disclosed by the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, in a press conference after the first National Security Council meeting of 2023, which was held on Wednesday at the Aso Villa in Abuja and presided over by the President.

Elections would take place in a secure environment, according to Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the Federation, who also stated that the council was pleased with the level of security nationwide.

Malami claims that sufficient preparations have been taken in advance of the elections on Saturday.

When questioned about the Supreme Court hearing that was postponed until March 3, 2023, Malami responded that the court’s ruling would be reviewed.
