The Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Oladunni Ajagungbade, is hale and hearty, his Secretary, Toyin Alamu, has said.
Alamu told newsmen in Ogbomoso that there was no truth in the speculations making the rounds that the monarch was dead.
There had been speculations around the city that the monarch had passed on.
“It was a wrong speculation and spreading of falsehood. The King is hale and hearty,” he said.
Alamu urged residents to always verify their facts and not engage in spreading false rumours capable of heightening tension.
The 87-year-old monarch clocked 40 years on the throne in October 2013.
