The immediate-past Chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), Chief Tony Anenih, who was rumoured dead early Wednesday is hale and hearty.
Anenih was reported to have died in a London hospital after battling cancer.
The report had claimed that Mr. Fit It as the Edo-born politician is called, had collapsed on Sunday morning after taking breakfast at his Durham Broadway private London home after being recently discharged from the hospital.
The report had claimed that Anenih had laid unconscious in West Bromptom Hospital on Tuesday, with his wife and physician allegedly locked in dispute over whether to keep him alive or let him die.
The report had also stated that a massive stroke last month had brought him to the London hospital where doctors reportedly removed a large section of his skull due to swelling, a trauma which the report claimed stole much of his brain function and continues to place him in medical peril.
The report even claimed that one Dr. Robert Fowler, one of his physicians is due to issue his death certificate on Thursday.
Anenih, however told METROWATCH, an online news publication few hours ago that there was no truth in his rumoured death.
In a brief telephone conversation, which he allegedly personally answered, Anenih said to be in London on a personal visit said “I am alive. I am enjoying myself. I have received over 500 calls since morning regarding the rumour of my death. But I am alive. God has preserved my life. He’s still on the throne.
“As long as He’s on the throne, nobody can take my life. I have heard all manner of wicked lies about my life. Some said I have brain tumor, cancer, etc. I do not know how some people will just sit down and begin to plot death for another person. This is very sad,” he reportedly said on phone.
