A Boko Haram fuel supplier, identified as Mai Mustapha, and one Madu, who coordinates procurement of food for the terror sect, have been arrested by troops of the Nigerian military.

A statement by the acting director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, said that the fuel supplier and food coordinator were arrested by troops at Jehu near Jakana.

He said Madu was involved in coordinating purchase of food items for the insurgents from the neighbouring villages, adding that the troops also killed eight terrorists in an encounter at Dumbuluwa village near Fika in Yobe State.

According to him, two members of the local vigilance group were injured by Improvised Explosive Devices in the attack.

Usman added that the Special Forces discovered piles of street lamps poles cut into pieces by Boko Haram terrorists, which they used in making Improvised Explosives Devices’ during a cordon and search operation around Dikwa.

The Acting Army spokesman stressed that the troops of the 7 Division Garrison recovered 15 cows, 174 goats and a donkey from cattle thieves and handed them over to their genuine owners while the rustlers were being interrogated.
