{"id":106064,"date":"2019-07-18T22:03:57","date_gmt":"2019-07-18T21:03:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newmail-ng.com\/?p=106064"},"modified":"2019-07-18T22:03:57","modified_gmt":"2019-07-18T21:03:57","slug":"efcc-arrests-immigration-officer-14-others-for-alleged-passport-racketeering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmail-ng.com\/efcc-arrests-immigration-officer-14-others-for-alleged-passport-racketeering\/","title":{"rendered":"EFCC arrests Immigration Officer, 14 others for alleged passport racketeering"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Lagos Zonal office, has arrested a Nigeria Immigration Service officer, Adebimpe Kehinde, for his alleged involvement in passport racketeering.<\/p>\n<p>EFCC acting spokesman, Tony Orilade in a statement in Abuja on Thursday said that Kehinde is an Immigration Assistant.<\/p>\n<p>According to Orilade, Kehinde is arrested alongside 14 other suspected passport racketeers following intelligence reports received by the Commission.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects are Nnadika Timothy, Oyeyiga Samuel, Sunday Adekunle, Lola Kadoso, Adebayo Damilola, Adeola Oluwafikayomi Ajiboshin, Abubakri Adebayo.<\/p>\n<p>Others are Uka Ifeanyi, Raph Emeka Ibuaku, Henry Onyebuchi, Christy Odey, Aba-Peter Blessing,Ogunmefun Oluwanishola and Busayo Balogun.<\/p>\n<p>Orilade said that the suspects allegedly conspired to extort money from unsuspecting members of the public applying for international passports.<\/p>\n<p>He said that items recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest include five laptops, mobile telephones and several official documents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Lagos Zonal office, has arrested a Nigeria Immigration Service officer, Adebimpe Kehinde, for his alleged involvement in passport racketeering.
