{"id":110774,"date":"2019-10-15T13:46:03","date_gmt":"2019-10-15T12:46:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newmail-ng.com\/?p=110774"},"modified":"2019-10-15T13:46:03","modified_gmt":"2019-10-15T12:46:03","slug":"gwandu-emir-flays-media-on-fake-buhari-marriage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmail-ng.com\/gwandu-emir-flays-media-on-fake-buhari-marriage\/","title":{"rendered":"Gwandu emir flays media on fake Buhari marriage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Bashar, has urged media organisations to be more professional in their efforts to disseminate information to Nigerians.<\/p>\n<p>Bashar gave the advice while addressing stakeholders on rampant cases of fake news in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur moral behavior has become so low that we can lie against our President and media organisations spread it to the world.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSame media organisations spread the fake news of President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s marriage, fixed the date and even finished the wedding themselves without the knowledge of the president himself,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Bashir said that it was shameful for Nigerians to make up falsehood and associate same with their president.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe media organisations should be mindful of their constitutional rights; they should also protect and promote those rights, and avoid anything capable of tarnishing their image,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The emir called on handlers of various social media platforms to be wary of what they share and be mindful of the religious implication of spreading false news.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Bashar, has urged media organisations to be more professional in their efforts to disseminate information to Nigerians.
