{"id":118050,"date":"2020-03-30T22:11:51","date_gmt":"2020-03-30T21:11:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newmail-ng.com\/?p=118050"},"modified":"2020-03-30T22:11:51","modified_gmt":"2020-03-30T21:11:51","slug":"nigeria-records-20-new-coronavirus-cases-toll-rises-to-131","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmail-ng.com\/nigeria-records-20-new-coronavirus-cases-toll-rises-to-131\/","title":{"rendered":"Nigeria records 20 new coronavirus cases, toll rises to 131"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nigeria has recorded 20 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 131.<\/p>\n<p>The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this in a tweet on Monday evening.<\/p>\n<p>The new cases are spread across Lagos, Kaduna, Oyo and the federal capital territory (FCT).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwenty new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria; 13 in Lagos, 4 in FCT, 2 in Kaduna and 1 in Oyo State As at 09:00 pm 30th March there are 131 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria with 2 deaths,\u201d the tweet read.<\/p>\n<p>Of the 131 confirmed cases, Lagos state has 81, FCT has 25 and Oyo has eight cases.<\/p>\n<p>Ogun and Kaduna states have three cases each, while Edo, Osun, Enugu, and Bauchi states have two cases each.<\/p>\n<p>Ekiti, Rivers and Benue states have recorded one case each.<\/p>\n<p>Nigeria had earlier recorded its second death from the disease.<\/p>\n<p>Suleiman Achimugu, a former managing director of the Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC), is the first victim of the disease in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Globally, over 600,000 cases have been recorded with at least 36,000 people already dead from coronavirus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nigeria has recorded 20 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 131.
